Whole-House Water Softener
A water softener is a self-cleaning water filter. It uses salt to clean itself. You add salt to brine tank, put lid back on, walk away. It’s that simple.
The primary purpose of a water softener is to remove the hardness minerals (calcium & magnesium) in your water with a process called Ion-Exchange. The resin beads inside the tank are attracted to these minerals, grabbing them and holding on, then the system washes the beads off automatically, a process called “backwashing” and returns to in-service mode. We use what is called “10% cross-linked resin”, the best resin available on the market today. There is no better.
Performance wise, you cannot beat the Clack WS1 Whole-House Water Softener. Compare the Clack WS1 Spec Sheet to any other brand & model softener out there and see for yourself. (Google Clack WS1 spec sheet)
“Metered” to conserve water, with a 2-week battery back-up in case of power loss, it boosts a much higher maximum flow rate than other brands at 27GPM, with a life span that will require VERY little servicing in the future. There is a reason it’s been an industry leader since the 1940s when they started, with a operating design that many have tried to duplicate.
Unlike others, Clack is a major, non-proprietary brand made in Windsor, Wisconsin. We don’t offer annual maintenance programs because the Clack system doesn’t need it. Check the salt level once a month and add if needed. The computer does the rest. It’s that simple.
Price range is 2475.00 – to very expensive, depending on size.
Whole-House Carbon Water Filter
For those wanting to remove the chlorine/chloramine disinfectant from their water, our Catalytic Carbon Water Filters are the perfect solution. This disinfectant can smell like “pool water” to some, or a “strong chemical smell” to others. Some folks even get dry, damaged skin and hair from hardwater.
It starts with using a better type of carbon media. We only use genuine Catalytic Carbon media from Jacobi, a world leader in water filtering medias.
Not only does it make your water safer to bathe in, but it also prolongs the life of the resin beads inside your water softener. The resin beads do not like chlorine/chloramine, cutting the life span of resin by almost half, depending on location, residual levels and other variables.
Remember, other companies may not explain this well: carbon filters do not clean themselves like the water softener does (unless you add a backwashing filter valve to it, which adds to price), meaning at some point, ALL carbon filters need to be replaced. Physics say the bigger the filter, the longer it will last. That’s why we use massive carbon filters. The 32k size carbon filter is filled with 27.50 lbs of catalytic carbon and the 48k & 64k size carbon filter is filled with 41.25 lbs! We have never seen a professional, reliable water softener company use bigger filters than we do, however, we have seen companies use very small ones. This will force their customers to replace it every 1-2 years, increasing costs to the customer. On average, our catalytic carbon filters listed above will last 3-4 years. When it comes to replacing it, the cost to replace is 380-450.00, depending on size.
Price range is 500.00 – 2500.00
Reverse Osmosis (RO) Drinking Water System
For drinking and cooking only, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system goes beneath your kitchen sink, has a small faucet that is mounted onto counter next to main kitchen faucet, and provides 93-98% pure water. Floride, Arsenic, Pharmaceuticals, Lead, Cyanide, and much more are removed, and you’re left with water that many feel is better than bottled water.
A quick online search will reveal that Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems are a debated product. Some feel they filter the water too much, taking out beneficial minerals you need for a healthy life. Others, including many medical professionals, contend that if you are relying on water for minerals you are going to die; we get our minerals from food, not water. Not to mention, to actually get any significant health benefits from minerals in water, you would have to drink 1-2 bathtubs full of water at one time, a feat not possible to do.
In the end, it’s a personal choice for you and your family. We are here to provide you knowledge on a) water quality and b) our products. There’s a reason we are often sold out of them, waiting for more to arrive. A lot of folks swear by them. Do your research and decide for yourself. Included is a leak detector & RO automatic shut-off valve for safety. Every RO unit should have those two things included.
Price range is 775.00 – very expensive.
Ultra-Violet (UV) Disinfection
Often called the ultimate safety barrier, UV disinfection deactivates bacteria, viruses, and other microbes.
Your water goes through a stainless-steel chamber and UV rays attack the microbes’ DNA, rendering them useless and making them unable to reproduce in the human body. It does not add anything to the water during this filtration and our customers on well-water and those pumping water from Lake Travis swear by them. They come with a digital display and power pack. The counter starts at 365 and counts down, with the UV bulbs get replaced annually.
Flow rates range from 9-21GPM. You don’t want to oversize a UV light or you can begin to heat your water and you don’t want that. We will ask questions and size your UV light correctly.
Price range is 1055.00 – 2865.00
Sediment Filters (Wall-mounted & Backwashing tanks)
Sediment is in everyone’s water, whether you’re on city water, lake water, or have your own private well. Sediment is organic matter, like crushed up leaves, rocks, and dirt. Often confused by homeowners AND plumbers alike with hardness, sediment is “easy” to wipe off and is usually worse in developing areas and subdivisions.
We have 2 types of sediment filters: wall-mounted and full-size backwashing sediment filters.
Our 20-inch wall-mounted sediment filters are great for those looking to save money and who don’t mind changing their filters out every 9-12 months. This can be done by the homeowner or us. Included is a 3-valve bypass, a safety device that is practically fail-proof and provides you with the ability to bypass the entire unit if necessary. Price is 685.00
Our 9×48 inch Clack backwashing Sediment Filter is for those folks who dont want to bother with filter changes and want the system to backwash and cruise for about 8-10 years before needing the media replaced, based on different variables. It also includes a 3-valve bypass.
Price range is 700.00 – 3850.00
